Asphalt Paving

New construction, remove and replace, and mill and resurface paving for commercial sites.

What This Covers

Paving work divides into three approaches. New construction builds the pavement from the subgrade up. Remove and replace takes the existing pavement down to the stone layer and rebuilds from there. Mill and resurface removes only the top layers and overlays, which applies while the base is still sound.

Each begins with an evaluation of the base stone, because asphalt placed over a base that is poorly compacted or incorrectly graded will fail regardless of how well the surface is laid. A crushed aggregate base course is compacted in lifts to design elevations set by the expected traffic, vehicle types and local soil conditions.

Excavation, grading and storm water drainage are handled as part of the same scope, since where water goes determines how long the pavement lasts.
